You need a break. Bad. Things are going haywire in the office and home doesn’t bring you much relief. You’ve been putting off your plans for a vacation because there’s always some bill that seems to get in the way. Yet, if you don’t get away soon, you’re going to explode. Everyone has found themselves in that very position at least once or twice in their lives. You may not be able to pull off a long vacation, but leaving town for the weekend is within your reach (and your budget).
Borrow the Funds
You deserve a break and if you’re pressed for cash, a small loan can get you out of town easily. Don’t worry about your less than stellar credit, they have bad credit payday loan alternatives. Unlike payday loans where you’d have to repay the loan in 14 days, you’d have a few months to pay back the cash you borrowed for your weekend getaway.
Stay in a Nearby Town
Where you stay has a lot to do with how much you’ll pay. If you don’t have a lot of cash, you can still leave town and stay in a nearby town. This means you can take your own car and save a lot of money.
Bring Your Own Food
Eating out can slash your travel budget in half. So, to save for spending on other things, bring your own food. If you have a hotel with a mini kitchen you can cook your own meals and skip eating out (well, maybe just once to treat yourself).
Who says you have to leave the hotel room to enjoy a weekend getaway. Stay in your room, pop in your favorite movie, make a nice meal, get in a nice bath, and just enjoy yourself. Afterward you could read a good book and just relax in bed.
Every community has some free event or activity you can experience. Depending on what time of year you travel there are holiday festivals, seasonal festivals, and cultural festivals. There are also live shows, outdoor vendors, and a bunch of entertainment you won’t soon forget. Much of it is free or very affordable to participate in. If you eat before heading out to these events you won’t have to spend as much on food when you’re there.
Try Museums and Tours
Another way to experience an area without going to deep into debt would be to check out museums and tours. Many cities have state museums and historical sites that tourists can visit for free or at a very low rate. Larger cities also have walking and bus tours for interested parties to learn more about the wonders of the area. Going early in the day or just before closing is often the best time to get a good deal.
If you’re stressed out, not feeling yourself, or just have been prolonging a much-needed vacation, there’s hope. You can get out of town on a weekend getaway on a small budget. If you don’t have the cash, take out a small loan and choose an affordable destination to travel to. Whether you stay in the hotel, find a free community event, or venture into a museum, you’ll have a relaxing time that’s well worth every penny.
